Andy Balram

Andy Balram Andy has completed a H.B.Sc in Life Sciences and Comparative Physiology, minoring in Philosophy and Biomedical Communications. While applying for Medical school, he still enjoys reading up on technology, film, comics, and his hobbies include sketching, filming, and costuming. His passion for Asian culture has lead him here.

Annie “Miyumi”

Annie Chiu Adventures in Pocky Land. Miyumi has over 9000 experiences and stories to share, but prefers to remain a mystery. She hides behind her lollipop 24/7, but if you spot an Asian girl wearing a Spirit Blue Canada Goose chilliwack somewhere in Toronto, chances are… that’s her.

Eva Yeung

Eva YeungEva loves New York City and all things fashion. She also loves to eat, cook, travel, listen to music, learn Japanese, do yoga, rock-climb…A little typical?..Yeah…Just a tad.

Eva was born into a family of foodies of Hong Kong, Shanghainese, and Taiwanese descent. She is a strong believer that food and fashion holds much more depth than what people normally perceive. Food and fashion is not only necessities in life, but also a part of the fundamental elements of all cultures.

Eva is a U of T graduate with an HBA in Communications and Fine Art History. She is now working hard, saving, experiencing, and just trying to live life to the fullest in Toronto until she moves to New York City by the end of 2012. Check out her personal blog!

Joe Ticar

Joe Ticar

Joe Ticar is a twentysomething professional who lives in north Toronto and works in the public relations and communications industry. When he isn’t busy being a desk pilot, Joe spends his time with gaming, writing, and dabbling in film photography. His hobbies include reading, cycling, sandwich sampling, and parallel parking. 2009 was a remarkable year for him: he graduated from U of T with an HBA in Communications and Professional Writing and published a book entitled Walang Hiya.
And to answer the question that isn’t on everyone’s mind: Yes, outside of this author box, he also refers to himself in the third person.

Joey Santiago

Joey SantiagoJoey Santiago is an Economics and Psychology student at the University of Toronto. He was the former President of the UofT Mississauga Students’ Union, and is currently the Co-President of the Erindale Filipino Students’ Association. He’s a cheap date and likes girls who look good in fitted caps. Why he chooses to write about relationships is a wonder to many, seeing as how much he sucks at them.

Ryan Butao

Ryan ButaoRyan Butao is a 20 something year-old filipino born and raised in the downtown core of Toronto. He is currently studying Marketing at Ryerson University. While enjoying long walks on Yonge Street and the occasional streetcar ride, he secretly longs to pursue acting. His favourite colour is navy blue, and stands at 6 foot 1. His weight? Doesn’t matter, he’s six feet tall! (Really though, he’s quite skinny)

Associate Developer

Andrew MunroAndrew Munro, an Associate Developer for Bananaloft, has spent his fair share of time with his headphones on, iTunes open and fingers blazing. He is a contract developer with a passion for learning everything he can about the web and web technologies. Andrew works with Facebook on an ongoing basis beta-testing newly-developed social products and has worked with the NHL and the Globe and Mail helping set up their social media strategies. He brings his passion, his experience and his love of Conrad to Bananaloft.

Miguel Natividad, JP Spanbauer and Justin Lee provide original artwork and visual design to our authors’ posts. Our logo was designed by the great JP De Leon. Without them, our authors’ original works would not stand out as they do.

Ann Liao

Ann LiaoAnn is a passionate designer and artist who appreciates all lovely and bizarre things. She’s studying in Toronto and has her own portfolio site at Annzilla. Follow her on Twitter, say hello and see what she is up to at the moment.
