Winter here in Toronto is only getting colder, but as you might know, the fashion world has been well ready for Spring/Summer 2011 since October 2010.

I was browsing through magazines and runway archives trying to decide what Spring/Summer 2011 trends I want to share with all you lovely folks here, but after observing what others have showcased, I have decided that I won’t blabber on about how amazing and adorable D&G, Hermès, Prada, and Louis Vuitton was (although Marc Jacobs did go with an Asian inspired silhouette for the LV S/S’11 collection), instead, I will take this opportunity to share with you some of the most prominent Asian fashion designers of our time.

There are just too many great Asian fashion designers on our planet that one post simply cannot do these figures justice. So, this month I will be taking you on a (hopefully educational) stroll through the Contemporary Pioneers, the Hot List of the 21st Century, and the Up and Coming Names You Ought To Get Yourselves Familiar With to add that Asian flare to your fashion vocabulary. Each post will feature Spring/Summer 2011 collection by each featured designer or fashion house, and how you can translate the key looks for your wardrobe in a more practical, everyday manner and accessible price point.

Check back Monday, January 24th 2011 for “Asian Fashion Designers You Must Know: Part One – The Contemporary Pioneers”.

P.S. Let me know who your favourite Asian designers are and who you’d like to see featured!
